Third time lucky.
Uncle Bri, unable to resist a little wonder into the ring right after Robin and I had gone supreme of show at Pembrokeshire County. It’s not the best of Robin, but I couldn’t resist it. Showing ponies may drain us of money, free time, energy etc but they also give us some wonderful moments with friends and family.
Avert your eyes if you can’t bear another appreciation post! This time it’s Brad and Cheryl’s Stormyoak Just Divine’s turn. I have been lucky to catch the ride on this little treasure for the last few HOYS’ and we NEARLY did it with a foot perfect individual - and a tricky set show too - to have highest ride at the Mid Wales show getting a blue rosette. So close! She’s such poppet of a pony; my legs have quite the workout with her and Daisy straight after each other in the last few shows - on one I’m hanging on and the other I’m mustering as much of a ‘go faster’ vibe as I can! 🥴
🧡 Haighmoor Prydferth 🧡I made a very last ditch attempt at getting this li’l lady - Daisy Dolittle - onto the HOYS bus but it wasn’t meant to be. We missed the first qualifier I entered because she spread a shoe on the morning, the second she was pulled top but dropped, then along came an altercation between her and a gate (she came off worst 😩). We thought the season was done, but she made it to the ring for a shot at goal and did me proud. Only to find she wasn’t what the conformation judges were were looking for. 🙈But, after a shaky start to the season and many a bump - physical and metaphoric, I’m glad she came out and showed the world what a treasure she can be and gave me a fabulous ride.

Once upon a time he let us tag along to all the local shows with him and that is definitely where our showing bug has come from. So, it was lovely to have Uncle Bri on the team yesterday and today for Day One of Pembrokeshire County Show. His skills as bandage roller are second to none and he shall now be forever known as Brian the Bandage. Maybe it’s especially appreciated this year as we are feeling the absence of his brother, our Dadcu, who was always absolutely in his element cheering us on at the show. I’ll update results later 🙈
The absolute dreamboat that is Keith and Rita’s Brynteg Llwynau Orchid - aka Robin - and I were let loose without the boss (@maggie_simons ) and with only Betty to keep an eye on us last Thursday for my first visit to the @chaps_uk championships. I have fallen absolutely in love with the patchy, blingy little dude that this pony is. She absolutely should put a lock on his stable! 😉🤦‍♀️
NPS Area 7 done! Relegated to chief driver, groom and all round ray-of-sunshiney-wisdom once again by the li’l sis but I must say I smashed it. 🤷‍♀️ Maggie’s boys were also epic with Paps back on form in the workers and Rory twinkled his little toes to stand second in the HOYS Section A class. So so proud of this little novice! Mags was ok too. 🤷‍♀️😜
